Masada

 

You’re a bloody fortress.

Masada in the flesh,

ramparts to last

till you die

and then some.

 I will not hurt you

You’re the wall of China

and Adrian’s wall.

Yet you dream of Jericho.

Nobody can touch you,

No one will hurt you

But you.

    Where does the “bloody” fit in? Is it like the English “damned” or meant to suggest a fight? What would your Jericho look like?

      Bloody in the British sense but also in the context of battles. Yes, it is both, I meant to suggest both. Jericho was a walled city too but the walls came tumbling down after a miracle and the city was overtaken.
