Original French version precedes this post, should you be curious.
Before you Fall Asleep
I would like you to please imagine
Before you fall asleep
When you are between awareness and slumber,
My hand on your forehead,
Then a kiss on each eyelid.
And let yourself drift…
Let me take you
Where sweet waters whisper
Gentle and eternal lullabies
In the benign silence of great forests.
Let me take you away
Through the rolling waves of oceans
And symphonies of cetaceans.
Let me give you rest
From questions without answers
And worries without solutions.
My hand on your heart,
Come with me from star to star
Deep into the darkest velvet of night…
Sleep, and dream sweet dreams, my love.
WOW !!!!!!! Don’t know what else to say, Em. This is fantastic. Makes me want to go to sleep…now !!! Beautifully written.

Beautiful. Romantic and gentle. With just a hint of sensual
Or is that my imagination?

Thank you. And no, that is not your imagination. Smiles.

I read both poems.
In English, wonderful.
In French, a hundred times better.
Thank you.

You are most welcome. I find it interesting that in whatever language a poem comes out first, that is the better version, even though I “translate” it myself.
