First the air leaves the lungs
And can’t seem to find its way back.
Then the heart can’t get it together
To beat the way it should
And there is a wailed scream in the mind.
After that chaos rages in every cell.
Water from everywhere in the body pools in the eyes
And starts leaking.
The world vanishes in a sustained blur.
With luck death will come now.
Sounds come out of your throat
That you don’t recognize.
Rational thoughts frozen,
Flight and fight responses
Take over blindly
Furiously
Desperately
Simultaneously
Ineffectively…
Then begins the wait
In the black pool,
Alone,
Doubled over
On your knees,
For colours and sounds to return,
For life to make sense
Again.
That explains pain very well!

Could be anything from banging your thumb with a hammer to another pain that makes no noise. 🙂

I believe that any kind of severe pain is an attack on the heart Paul.

The world spins as it should be. Mine always seems to be on the edge of something undefined. Thanks Tony.
