Present

You and I,
Sunshine astern
Alone on the beach
In our world, we walk.

Equal steps pushing
Our shadows side by side
Yet tied by an infinite
Present

Like two tracks
Merge in the distance,
Or two souls touch
When time stops.

You beautifully capture in words a thought/feeling I often experience but have difficulty conveying.

      Thank you for your kindness.
Time and I have a difficult relationship. I often have to chase it because it goes too fast ergo I am late! But when I forget it’s there, then I believe I come close to a state of grace.
Not sure it makes any sense, but that’s my world šŸ˜‰

It is pure peace wrapped in chocolate!
In French “infini” also sounds like “unfinished” and it makes for an interesting juxtaposition. Then the thoughts come that the present is a present…and one can get lost if the gift is sent in advance… or found, I can’t tell which.
      I’m dizzy now. Or ditzy?

No one writes like you do, Em. You put into words, into poetry, what most of us cannot make into thoughts.
    Superb.
